The weight and yardage of the skeins also differ. The category 2 yarns are 0.35oz/10g and 28yd/26m, while the category 3 yarns are 38yd/35m. The knitting gauges vary as well, with category 2 yarns knitting at 21sx29r on US6/4mm needles, category 3 yarns at 24sx35r on US4/3.5mm, and the 96% Acrylic, 4% Other yarns at 24sx30r on US5/3.75mm.

The suggested crochet hooks also vary, with category 2 yarns requiring an I9/5.5mm hook, category 3 yarns a F5/3.75mm hook, and the 96% Acrylic, 4% Other yarns a G6/4mm hook.

The care instructions for all Bonbons yarns are the same: machine wash cool, gentle cycle, do not bleach, dry flat, low iron, and dry clean any solvent except trichloroethylene.
